Microbicidal ultraviolet rays (UV-C)

Disinfection with UVC radiation is the best choice for safe, continuous and effective protection in a variety of applications (food and pharmaceutical production, laboratories and hospitals, as well as assembly areas), in order to protect ourselves and the products from dispersion and contamination by microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc.).

UV rays are ultraviolet (electromagnetic waves) that are classified into 3 categories:

^

UV-A (315-400 nm) with tanning properties.

^

UV-B (280-315 nm) with therapeutic properties and vitamin D synthesis.

^

UV-C (100-280 nm) with microbicidal properties.

UV light shows the greatest germicidal efficiency at a wavelength of 253.7 nm, causing the partitioning of thymine molecules in the DNA of microorganisms and thereby inhibiting their reproduction, thus rendering the microorganisms dead or harmless.

Microbes cannot gain resistance to UV rays, unlike chemical disinfectants. Thus, UV rays are ecological. Environmental pollution is unavoidable with the use of chemical disinfectants. In addition, there is a risk of serious hazards from direct inhalation of vapours or ingestion of food contaminated by possible contact with the chemical disinfectants themselves.

Applications of UVC systems can be included in the initial design, but also in existing installations. And their variety guarantees that there are complete solutions for every space or business, regardless of its type and size.

The air sterilization units are easily installed in new and old air conditioning installations, both inside the machines and in the air ducts and operate continuously, eliminating the risk of microorganisms multiplying and spreading through the air conditioning system.
